Recap of the 35th Annual Independence Day Parade

"Proud to be an American"

Opening Ceremonies were held at the judges viewing stand with Bruce McCubbin, Master of Ceremonies presiding.  We were honored to have the Research Development and Engineering Color Guard on behalf of Team APG to lead the parade.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by our honored guest, TSgt Stephen Libertini, of the 175th Wing of the Maryland Air National Guard.  The National Anthem was performed by Christina Massimei and John Carroll H.S.Band under Marc Bolden, Director. 

The 2015 Grand Marshals were Stephanie and Frank Duchacek.  This year’s theme winner of was Kelsey Stelmack, a 3rd grade student from St. Stephen School.


Parade entries were judged, and awards made, in one of the following categories:

Judges Awards for BEST INTERPRETATION OF THEME – “Proud To Be An American”

  1st Place $150 – St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School – Linda Huber

  2nd Place $100 –Olney Farm - Renee Maria Weber  

  3rd Place $50 – Jerusalem Mill – Joan Scovill

 15th Annual Mary Frances Sheppard Award - $150 for BEST ENTRY IN PARADE – Jerusalem Mill – Joan Scovill

Judges:  Mary Jo Button, Michael Trush, Theresa Chevery, Dave Huber and Richard Eyre,Vice President of Long Green VFC.

Some entries were non-competing. Awards were presented at the July 15th meeting of the Greater Kingsville Civic Association.
